What is Hand Reflexology
The hands represent the same map of nerve endings as the feet and a hand reflexology treatment is performed using the same techniques as for the feet. You might prefer to choose a hand treatment if you do not like having your feet touched, have any infections of the feet or can only squeeze in 30 minutes for a treatment. Because hand reflexology has a shorter treatment time it’s also great for those who are watching their budget. For more detailed information about how reflexology works please visit the Reflexology page.
What is a treatment like?
A consultation form will be completed at the first treatment to build up a picture of your health and lifestyle and ensure that the reflexology will not interfere with any other treatments or conditions you may have. You will also be given an opportunity to ask questions.
You will be wrapped in warm blankets and soft towels on a reclining chair while you relax and enjoy your treatment. We generally carry a lot of stress in our hands, remember the phrase “clenched fists”, and this wonderful therapy helps to melt away these stresses.
All treatments are tailored to your individual needs. Watch the short AoR clip below for an introduction to hand reflexology.
How could Hand Reflexology help me?
Reflexology treats you holistically as a person to increase your overall well-being. Most people find they gain a deep sense of relaxation during the treatment and often find the treatments bring about a release of tension, improved sleep, improved mood and an increased sense of well-being.
